Presents for Creative People
At times, we all need a little something to power us through a difficult project! I love this girl boss wine glass — I think anyone who gets things done every day can call themselves a girl boss!
The sweary mug is literally my inner monologue whenever I give someone a handmade gift. Which is rare, because I’m selfish and also a procrastinator… (sorry Ma!).
This “crafty af” mug is so cute! I love being proud of my crafty side, and filling it full of coffee would definitely motivate me to finish a project.
How adorable is this glass? It has such a vintage vibe, and would be the perfect thing for an afternoon beer or g&t!
For the Sewing Room
Even in a small space, little details can go a long way into making a sewing spot cozy! This iPhone speaker would be so good for listening to audiobooks! (Maybe one of the books I recommended last week?)
I’m constantly just throwing pins to the side of my machine table. That’s great… until I stand up and step on one! A cute ring dish-turned-pin dish would be so handy.
A pop of green is a necessity for any room, in my opinion. And air plants are so easy to take care of, even I can’t kill them! And I’ve killed succulents, y’all. Succulents. Those things are supposed to be indestructible.
Tiny thread snips are one of those things you don’t think you need until you have them. Then you wonder how you ever lived without them. I have this exact pair, and they’re super cute and super sharp!
Okay, yes, I am obsessed with needleminders. But they’re so handy and sweet!
Show off Your Skills!
This sweatshirt kills me! My ideal ugly Christmas sweater!
I always bring a reusable bag when I go shopping. It’s good for the environment, and I never remember to bring plastic ones to recycle anyway. I think I need this one for my trips to the fabric store!
Remember the whole reason I need a pin dish? Yeah, it’s also the same reason I sew with shoes on. Slippers are cozy, and ones with a rubber sole ensure there won’t be any pokey accidents.
I love this cute maker tee! This baseball style is about the closest I ever get to playing sports.
It’s always fun to spread your handmade things around the house. This calendar would be something to look forward to every month!
Sewing can really suck the moisture out of your hands. A little hand cream goes a long way.
After a long day hunched over your sewing machine, a hot bath can do wonders. Soak in this bath milk and you’ll feel rejuvenated!
These candles are some of my favorites — hand made in Northern Michigan!
Another local love for me is this tea. It’s a St. Louis favorite and I think I’ll buy some as holiday gifts this year.
I hope this guide put a few things on your gift list! Send it along to anyone who might need some ideas on perfect presents for makers — parents, siblings, spouses, friends… And if you want some more ideas, check out my Etsy list of maker gifts. Plus there may be a few things in my book recommendation list for you, or pick up a new craft off my small craft list! Now: get back to holiday crafting!
