Marigold Fabric

Hey everyone!  I’m so excited to be this month’s leader for Project #SewMyStyle2018.  This month’s garment is the Marigold Jumpsuit and Trouser from Tilly & the Buttons.  I’m really excited to get into this one!  Today I’m sharing some Marigold fabric recommendations for you, in case you haven’t purchased yours yet.  Tomorrow, we’re talking styling and hacks!

Marigold Fabric

The pattern calls for lightweight and drapey fabric.  You could make the pattern in a low-stretch fabric, or in a woven.

Patterned Knits

A gridded ponte from Harts Fabric would definitely make for a work-appropriate pair of Marigold trousers, but still be some cozy secret pajamas!

This elephant print from Stonemountain and Daughter totally screams “summer holiday” to me — picture wearing these after a day at the beach with a drink in your hand!

Summer is a time when I like to experiment with prints.  What do you guys think about this brushstroke camo from Style Maker Fabric?

Solid Knits

Is it getting to be winter by you?  The Marigold trousers would be so easy to adapt into a pair of sweatpants, especially with this sweatshirt fleece from Stonemountain and Daughter.

The Marigold jumpsuit would be the perfect pool coverup, like in this french terry from Style Maker Fabrics.

It’s a little late for Easter, but isn’t this blue jersey from Harts Fabric so cute for a spring bridal shower or brunch?

Patterned Wovens

Another good winter/office option fro the Marigold would be this plaid rayon from Style Maker Fabrics — soooo cute!

This floral rayon from Harts Fabric would be the perfect fabric for a springy Marigold trouser or jumpsuit!

Call me cliché, but I really think that florals are a great fit for the Marigold — try this watercolor rose fabric from Stonemountain and Daughter!

Solid Wovens

Can you go wrong with a classic black jumpsuit?  I’m loving this black crepe from Style Maker Fabrics!

This tencel denim from Stonemountain and Daughter would be awesome for a casual denim-style Marigold jumpsuit.

I used this sueded rayon from Harts Fabric in another color for my Kalle last month.  It would make an amazing pair of drapey Marigold trousers!

I’ve posted my two Marigold fabrics on Instagram — I’m planning to use the floral for the jumpsuit and the gold for the trousers!  Both are available on Fabric.com.  Have you bought your Marigold fabric yet?  What’s your plan?
